Module 1: Body in Performance

module synopsis | The module provides a rigorous and in depth contextual and practical examination of the philosophical, psychoanalytical, sociological and other theoretical notions around the Body in Performance and gives the students the opportunity to engage with practical applications of embodiment. It considers how artists or artistic movements of the late 20th and 21st century have creatively replied to the philosophical underpinnings of the concept of the Body and how they have critically developed, absorbed or established these theories in order to create work that can challenge embodiment and performativity of subjectivity.
