Home residency “Studio Practice and Experimentation” in the frame of Master of Theatre Practices Program, ArtEZ University of the Arts, Arnhem, Netherlands. In collaboration with students from Orazio Costa School in Italy.
You are invited to dance naked far away together for 20 minutes.
Time frame of the practice: 6 – 8 May 2020 | 7pm Central European Time (UTC + 1)
Choose a space with a nice temperature.
Set your alarm to ring in 20 minutes.
Rub the palms of your hands together. Rub them through the skin of your whole body, thinking of activating its permeability.
Stand still for a moment with your eyes closed. Connect to every single body that is doing this practice in different geographic locations. You will create a landscape together.
Feel your skin in contact with the air and begin to move. Start to move focusing on the contours of your body, on the contact between the skin and the air. Feel free to have physical contact with anything else in the space.
Imagine your body as a container with numerous holes of different sizes and shapes. Various elements of the outside world approach you, but only those which match the size and shape of the wholes filter through into the body*. So whatever happens is exactly what is needed.
Do not take the air for granted.
Do not take the space for granted.
When the alarm rings, perceive what has circulated in and through your body during the practice. Write down three words that correspond to your experience in any way.
If you think of a book, a poem, a song or a movie, write the titles down.
It would be great to receive the documentation of your experience. If you feel like it, share it with me via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
